Monthly Community Update | September 2026: Building the Playbook Foundation & Shaping the Next Quarter — Strategy Execution Playbook Progress

Monthly Community Update | Thursday, September 24, 2026
As StrategyXF closes in on locking down Version 1 of its 10 Key Principles of Strategy Execution, the September Community Update was a chance to step back and take stock. The session looked at how the community has grown, what members told us in our first Community Engagement Pulse, and the progress made building the StrategyXF Playbook foundation. It closed with a look ahead to the community projects that will shape the next quarter, starting with how strategy execution should be positioned to the C-suite.

Key Takeaways
The foundation is nearly in place. The principle blueprints are moving quickly toward Version 1. They are shaped by practitioner teams who will remain custodians, evolving each principle as the community's thinking develops.
Practitioners want real-world proof, not more theory. The Engagement Pulse sent a clear signal. Members value real-world case studies from fellow practitioners and smaller peer groups by role or industry above all else. That is exactly where the Playbook is heading next.
Time is the biggest barrier, so focus matters. As the community and its content grow, the priority is making it easier for busy senior leaders to find what matters to them. That means clearer tagging by principle and capability, and a Think Tank calendar published well in advance.
The village needs every voice. Strategy execution only works when the whole enterprise is at the table. The community is actively seeking more practitioners from Finance and FP&A, HR, enterprise risk and corporate strategy to sit alongside its strong PMO, transformation and architecture representation.
Next up is the C-suite case. The first community play will tackle how to position strategy execution to the C-suite. It will cover who should own it, what that leader needs to succeed, and how to show where value is being lost or deferred across the operating system. This may prove to be the most important work the community does.

About the Monthly Community Update
On the fourth Thursday of each month, the Thursday Think Tank makes way for StrategyXF's Monthly Community Update. It's a chance to step back from individual topics and look at the community as a whole. That means celebrating membership growth and welcoming new members, spotlighting member insights, tracking progress on the StrategyXF Playbook and looking ahead to the next quarter. Every session is recorded and recapped so members can catch up, revisit key points and jump into the conversation at any time.
